We value children’s active learning attitude and ability to self-explore. At this school, children can study in-depth through theme-based projects, outdoor experiential activities and play. We pride ourselves on broadening children’s horizons and enriching their learning experience by applying the life-wide learning strategy and making good use of community resources. We also acknowledge the importance of a hands-on learning experience and allowing free exploration in a free-play environment. The ‘Plan-Work-Review’ approach helps children develop the ability to introspect and self-study during their free-play session.
Furthermore, we have introduced the “Kid’s Box” English curriculum published by Cambridge University Press, which comprehensively enhances students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.
We have designed a multi-intellectual assignment model which consolidates what children have learned effectively. The model focuses on application, problem solving, creativity, and logical thinking. Not only can it consolidate the obtained knowledge, but it can also develop children’s critical thinking ability, and enhance their cognitive development.
Writing Assignment:
K1 assignment focuses on training children’s hand-eye coordination, spatial sense, and manipulation of pens. We would like to prepare our children to write through interesting activities such as parent-child fine motor activities, sticking, stamping, coloring, and drawing lines.
K2 assignment focuses on enhancing children’s recognition of basic glyphs and strokes and helping children to master the basic stroke order rules.
Students learn the Chinese language acquisition strategies such as learning basic strokes and compound strokes. As a result, children can gradually write Chinese characters well.
K3 assignment focuses on developing the concept of the Chinese combination structure of radicals and characters. Through learning the Chinese language acquisition strategies such as recognizing the character structures and the meaning of radicals, children can expand their range of vocabulary and thus, their reading and writing abilities will be improved.
A child’s learning outcomes are comprehensively assessed based on ongoing observations and records, progressive assessments, self-assessments of children and feedback from parents.
